My Class and Other Random Thoughts!

I am so excited! My class is large and airy. There is four computers, a interactive board, and 30 desks. Yes, 30 desks! I am worried too! This number scares me a bit as I was hoping for 25 students.

I have a great mentor and she was awesome today as I went through the loads of "papers" the retired teacher left me. Finally, I got it is some sort of organized piles, then had her tell me what was trash, keep and give away. It made the process much better. I have books organized on the shelf. I have me desk in a maybe spot, and the computers have a pretty solid spot. The closet is being filled with the randomness that makes me wonder how the teacher found anything and used it effectively.

Hurricane is coming in tomorrow so we are planning to hunker down and see it through. The forecast shows a lot of wind and some rain, so pray or us.

I hurried to Red's class as he had a party and asked that I be there. I figured why not as it will be one of the last things I do for a bit, especially with a new job. Never again, 30+ Pre-K all running around, eating suger-y foods and having a blast! Ekk! I am glad though, he is having a fun time at the school and he is enjoying it. It puts me at ease to know that he is not miserable and he is having fun while I work. I miss him though, which is kinda surprising as I thought I would enjoy the time without him. I believe that we will end up with a better relationship becasue we are not in each other's pockets!

Picture Time

For those who do not know, I love to take pictures. My husband is the best because he bought me a new camera a few months ago so I could develop my skill and have more to play with. I have a FABULOUS SONY NEX-3. I have loved taking photos and just seeing the world through photos so I thought I would share a few here as I see it.

This photo was taken in Coos Bay, Oregon. It is the first think I see as I weave toward my grandma's home. It is Shinglehouse Slough. The water was low and the marshy smell says home more than anything.

I will be hanging it in my home, when we finally get a place. I plan on spending many dollars, getting my photos framed. It is important to me and the hubby agrees with me.

Cooking for 5 is way better than for 3!!

Today was a day of epic laziness! I did not even get dressed until noon. I spent the time organizing my make-believe dresser and harassing my family. I, even, set up my sister's blog for her.

So maybe I did more than I thought... oh well, I digress. The hubby, redhead and I went to the local Safeway to get dinner makings and a few random ideas! I came home and started dinner, baked chicken, instant taters, and SteamFresh veggies. Nothing fancy but my friends loved it!

Lady of the House said we have to stay in their basement as I cook, then Lord of the House said I did dishes and laundry. I might be kidnapped and forced to live as the gnome in the basement.

Might not be a bad setup as there is Cable, Internet, and Sweet Tea!

A Time for Transitions

Everything is new and wonderful right now!! We are moving to NOVA. And what is NOVA but Northern Virginia, which I learned reading other blogs today.

We are currently camped out in our dear friends' basement until our 3 bedroom apartment with a view of the Potomac River is ready, which is in 27 days. If anyone is counting... Yes, I am counting. Don't get me wrong, I love the space but who doesn't love their OWN space?!?!

The redhead is homesick, which kinda surprises me. I think this is due to the lost space. He cannot spread out and scatter the massive Cars collection to hell and back! He is a bit more whiny and continues to talk about a boy named Ethan. Note: We have not seen Ethan for four months, so... what is that about?

As for the teacher, we learned this week at ORIENTATION, I was extremely lucky to get my position!!! 125,000 people applied for a spot and as of that day only 563 BLESSED individuals have a position. All I have to say is HOLY CRAP, can I sell myself or what?

So who makes up the 2 teachers + a redhead...
The male teacher: 32 year old, 2 weeks into eyewear (hating it!), AWESOME father, husband to a woman who might consider herself a PRINCESS, techno-lovin' 5th grade teacher

The female teacher: 30 tear old, fast talking, SASSY, momma, believes herself to be a PRINCESS, sarcastic, first year, 6th grade teacher

the REDHEAD: 4 year old, SASSY, gifted, Car lovin' manic, loving, starting Pre-K and loving the idea, Capri Sun drinkin', You Tube (Car videos, momma) boy

There are others in our lives but this blog is about us and our very crazy lives, full of family, friends, and students!

Oh, and let's not go into the fact that both my husband and I are online students. Hubby is getting his Doctorate' and I am getting my Masters' in Instructional Technology, so y'all know that our son knows how to navigate a laptop!
